White aluminum oxide 46# Characteristicis and applications

White aluminum oxide 46# grit is a commonly used model for producing ultra-thin cutting disc, and the amount of 46 mesh accounts for more than 70% of the production of bonded abrasives. However, in the production process of white aluminum oxide, the output ratio of 46# is fixed and cannot fully meet the needs of the abrasives industry. In addition, many users in the sandblasting and grinding industry also use 46 mesh white aluminum oxide. Therefore, the price of 46 units is often higher than other grits.

White corundum with 46 mesh has the following characteristics:

1. High hardness and good self-sharpening. The production of grinding wheel blades requires the use of fixed furnace white corundum 46#. It is fully fused and has a long smelting time. Therefore, the toughness is higher than that of fixed furnace white alumina. The crystal size of white corundum is smaller than that of brown corundum, and its self sharpness is higher than that of brown corundum, making it suitable for cutting stainless steel products.
2. Strong grinding force. White aluminum oxide has a coarse particle size of 46 mesh, which can achieve a sharp cutting effect. The average particle size of its particles is 0.37mm, which does not contain fine particles below 0.25mm, thus taking into account both grinding efficiency and durability.
3. High stacking density. The white aluminum oxide 46 mesh used as raw material for grinding wheels should have a high bulk density, and there should be more abrasive placed in the mold per unit volume. In addition, the roundness of the particles is high, and the binder can be fully filled between the abrasive particles. It helps to improve the bonding performance of white alumina abrasive particles, thereby improving the performance of the grinding wheel.
4. Low magnetic content. The magnetic substances present in white aluminum oxide grains mainly come from this crushing and grinding process. After high-temperature sintering, these magnetic materials will produce spots that affect the performance and appearance of the grinding wheel. The white aluminum oxide produced by ceramic ball milling has low magnetic content and fewer impurities, making it more suitable for producing abrasive products.
5. The refractory temperature is high, and after the grinding tool is formed, it is placed in the kiln for roasting. White alumina can maintain its physical and chemical properties at high temperatures.

White aluminum oxide 46 is mainly used in the following industries:
1. Resin cutting blades, grinding discs, sand discs, and other abrasive products.
2. Wear-resistant aggregates, such as wear-resistant aggregates for coatings such as floor sand.
3. Sandblasting is mainly used for the surface treatment of metals, stainless steel, and other materials to increase surface roughness and prepare for spraying.
4. Fire resistant bearing plates, etc.
