White fused alumina refractory
White fused alumina refractory material is an excellent high thermal raw material. It has high refractory temperature, strong thermal shock resistance, and high density. It can be used in various shaped and unshaped refractory materials in industries such as steelmaking, steel ladle, kiln furniture, refractory aggregate, and castables.
First, the melting point of white fused alumina is 2250 °C, and the refractory temperature is about 1900°C.
Second, white fused alumina has high mechanical strength and high hardness. The microhardness can reach 2200-2300kg/mm2, which can resist the impact of molten steel.
Third, the thermal expansion coefficient of white fused alumina is low. The linear thermal expansion coefficient at each temperature is as follows:
Temperature(°C) | 573 | 673 | 773 | 8730 | 973 | 1073 | 1273 |
linear thermal expansion coefficient(x10-6/ °C) | 3.34 | 4.46 | 5.10 | 5.75 | 6.02 | 6.28 | 6.63 |
Fourth, the crystal size of white fused alumina is large, the bulk density is high, and the apparent porosity is 6-10%. The dense structure can increase the erosion resistance of the refractory.
Fifth, the main crystal phase of white fused alumina is α-phase alumina, which can be combined with other oxides and non-oxides to make corundum refractories. For example, it is compounded with magnesia-aluminum spinel to make alumina-spinel refractory. It makes Al2O3-SiC refractory work with silicon carbide. Moreover, compounded with mullite to make alumina-mullite refractory.
It can be seen that white fused alumina refractory( WFA section sand and WFA fine powder) have superior performance as refractory materials, and can be used in ladle substrate castables, refractory alumina bricks, industrial furnaces, and other fields.
