White corundum powder as FRP additives

White corundum powder is a good additive for FRP products. It can improve the strength of FRP.

FRP (fiberglass) is a glass-reinforced reinforced plastic resin material. The advantages of this material are lightweight, corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity, and comfort.  FRP seats, FRP bathtubs, and FRP yachts are welcome in the market. However, it also has the disadvantages of poor wear resistance, insufficient strength, and easy deformation. Therefore, it is usually necessary to add alumina toughening materials to FRP to improve the strength and wear resistance of FRP.

White corundum powder is fused alumina powder. It could work as an additive to FRP resin as wear-resistant powder. It has the following advantages:
White corundum powder has strong wear resistance and high strength. It is an alumina powder with a Mohs hardness of 9.0.
White corundum powder has good fluidity. Water washing and sieving make the powder very clean. Thus, it has good fluidity and is easy to disperse into FRP resin.
White corundum has stable performance, can resist acid and alkali erosion, and has good anti-corrosion performance.
White corundum micro powder has high whiteness, high purity, no impurities, and no black spots, and will not affect the appearance of FRP products, especially bathroom products such as bathtubs and washbasins.
The white corundum micro powder has high particle consistency and is easily and uniformly dispersed into the polyurethane resin.

In recent years, the demand of FRP product manufacturers for white corundum has been diversified. From coarse white corundum grain, 60 grit 80 grit to white corundum powder 240 grit, 500 grit, and 800 grit are used.
