Sandblasting is a process in which abrasive particles are driven by the strong pressure of air to grind the surface of stainless steel. White fused alumina grit is an aggressive blasting media for stainless steel surfaces. It is of high hardness and grinding power. In the blasting process, each particle of white fused alumina grain is like an irregular cutter. When this granular “cutter” cuts stainless steel, the scratch marks different surface roughness.

White fused alumina refractory material is an excellent high thermal raw material. It has high refractory temperature, strong thermal shock resistance, and high density. It can be used in various shaped and unshaped refractory materials in industries such as steelmaking, steel ladle, kiln furniture, refractory aggregate, and castables.

The hydrophilicity of white aluminum oxide is its ability to attract water molecules. The hydrophilicity of the white aluminum oxide is very important for resin-bonded abrasive wheels.

The hardness of white fused aluminum oxide is 9.0 on the Mohs scale.  And Knoop hardness of white fused aluminum oxide is 20500N/MM2.  It is harder than most metal, stainless steel, and alloy parts. Therefore, it can grind most metals, iron, stainless steel, and other materials.

The D50 value of white aluminum oxide 4000 mesh is 3.5 microns. In some precision grinding or abrasive product industries, the daily standard particle size requirement of white aluminum oxide 3.5 micron is WFA 4000 mesh. Especially for export products, the model needs to coincide with the standard JIS size.

For plastic materials or metal profiles with fine lines on the surface, during the sandblasting process of the dry sandblasting machine, the moment the white corundum grit collides with the surface of the material will produce frictional heat. This heat will darken and darken the surface of the profile.

White aluminum oxide ultrafine powder is generally only white corundum powder with a D50 median particle size below 5um. Generally used for fine grinding and polishing. The white aluminum oxide 10000 mesh ultrafine powder (D50 value of 1 micron) is the finest non-nano-scale aluminum oxide powder, and its production process is very complicated.
