The hardness of white fused aluminum oxide

In our previous article, we mentioned that under different hardness testing methods, the hardness of white fused aluminum oxide has different values. However, the hardness of the white aluminum oxide abrasive is not constant. It will be different with the increase in temperature.
Under normal temperature, the microhardness of white fused aluminum oxide is 21600-22600mpa. However, as the raw material of abrasives, white aluminum oxide abrasives can be used in various temperature environments according to the firing process of different abrasives. The following are the values of white corundum abrasives as a function of temperature:

Temperature(℃)500600700800900100011001200
Microhardness (Mpa)23000220002010018100146001230096005600

The hardness of white corundum abrasive does not change much below 800 ℃. It is a commonly used abrasive for producing coated abrasives, resin bonded grinding wheels and ceramic bonded grinding wheels.
