White corundum micropowder 400#  500# are made from industrial alumina powder. It gets from fusing process in an arc at temperatures exceeding 2000°C, and then cooled. They are widely used in denture sandblasting. The particle size range of 400-mesh white corundum is 20-60 microns, and the particle size range of 500-mesh white corundum is 15-55 microns. They offer the following advantages as denture sandblasting media:

I. Excellent Physical Properties

1. Moderate Hardness.

White corundum micropowder has a Mohs hardness of approximately 9, making it relatively hard. It gains features of high hardness, effectively ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the denture. This allows it to effectively remove impurities, oxide layers, and contaminants from the denture surface during sandblasting without causing excessive wear or damage to the denture itself.
2. Uniform Particle Size.

The particle size can be precisely controlled and screened. That allows us to provide a variety of particle sizes to meet different denture processing requirements. Uniform particle size ensures consistent sandblasting results, resulting in a more uniform denture surface treatment and avoiding over- or under-treatment of areas.
3. Regular Shape: White corundum micropowder particles are relatively regular, often angular. This shape creates a superior cutting and impacting effect during sandblasting. As a result, it improves blasting efficiency, more effectively cleaning and roughening the denture surface, and enhancing adhesion between the denture and subsequent coatings or adhesives.

II. Chemical Stability

1. Chemical Inertness.

White corundum micropowder exhibits excellent chemical stability. It is not susceptible to chemical reactions with denture materials. During the denture sandblasting process, reactions with denture materials do not affect the performance and quality of the denture, ensuring biocompatibility and safety.
2. Corrosion Resistance.

White corundum micropowder resists attack by a variety of chemicals, even in humid or chemically exposed environments without deterioration or corrosion. This ensures the quality and stability of the sandblasting media, facilitating long-term storage and use.
