The alpha phase Al2O3 in 99.5% white fused alumina

As is well known, 99.5% white fused alumina is a type of WFA with low Na2O. The purpose of high-temperature melting through electric melting technology is to recrystallize industrial alumina powder and obtain a corundum crystal with high refractory temperature, high hardness, and strong grinding force. Most of the recrystallized alumina is in the corundum phase (i.e. alpha phase alumina). Normally, the Na2O content of white fused alumina is 0.3-0.4%. In the mean time, the content of alpha phase Al2O3 is about 90%. 99.5% white fused alumina produced through a special formula has a Na2O content of less than 0.1%. That helps to increase the production proportion of corundum phase. The proportion of alpha phase Al2O3 can reach 97-98%. This greatly improves the physical and thermodynamic properties of white fused alumina material.
