New applications of 99.8% White Corundum Powder F360

White corundum is an artificially synthesized wear-resistant material. The typically aluminum oxide content is 99% -99.5% with A grade white corundum. In more specialized fields, using low sodium industrial alumina powder and refining with special formulas can purify white corundum alumina to 99.7% -99.8%, with sodium content controlled within 0.1%. The proportion of corundum phase after crystallization is 97-98%. That greatly improves the fire resistance, wear resistance, self sharpening, bulk density and many other properties of white corundum. Then with suspension treatment and water seivinig, we get 99.8% white corundum powder.  This type of aluminum oxide powder is micro sodium white corundum powder.

99.7%+ Aluminum oxide powder 800# fused Charactoristics

99.7%+ Aluminum oxide powder 800# fused is a type of low Na2O white fused alumina. The Na2O content is less than 0.1% with very low impurity. Due to strict control of the content of sodium oxide, the conversion rate of α – Al2O3 in the process of electrofusing aluminum oxide powder to form corundum crystals is higher than 90%. In terms of performance, it is reflected in better material hardness, fire resistance stability, and chemical stability.

The alpha phase Al2O3 in 99.5% white fused alumina

As is well known, 99.5% white fused alumina is a type of WFA with low Na2O. The purpose of high-temperature melting through electric melting technology is to recrystallize industrial alumina powder and obtain a corundum crystal with high refractory temperature, high hardness, and strong grinding force. Most of the recrystallized alumina is in the corundum phase (i.e. alpha phase alumina). Normally, the Na2O content of white fused alumina is 0.3-0.4%. In the mean time, the content of alpha phase Al2O3 is about 90%. 99.5% white fused alumina produced through a special formula has a Na2O content of less than 0.1%. That helps to increase the production proportion of corundum phase. The proportion of alpha phase Al2O3 can reach 97-98%. This greatly improves the physical and thermodynamic properties of white fused alumina material.

The usage of white fused alumina in the wear-resistant industry

White fused alumina is one of the most important grinding and wear-resistant materials in industry. It combines good wear resistance, self sharpening, and toughness. White fused alumina is a type of artificial aluminum oxide. It has a higher hardness, chemical inertness, and better refractory properties after high-temperature treatment and cooling. In the wear-resistant and anti-slip industry, the use of white fused alumina is also very extensive.

White fused alumina for ceramic sintering tray blasting

Sandwish ceramic sintering tray is a commonly used refractory kiln tool for firing magnetic materials and electronic ceramics. It has a high refractory temperature, but after firing, problems such as coating detachment and ceramic material adhesion may occur. Therefore, after using the burning plate for a period of time, it is necessary to sandblast and clean the burning plate with abrasives such as white corundum 80 mesh and 120 mesh.

What is Alumina Micropowder WCA?

The platelet alumina micropowder WCA is well-known for its unique platelet structure. Initially, platelet alumina micropowder was developed by Microgrit in the United States. Researchers discovered that alumina crystals that have undergone high-temperature calcination under certain conditions have a hexagonal platelet crystal shape. If used for grinding, this structure will not have many sharp corners like traditional alumina. That is conducive to the grinding of fine components. WCA micropowder is the specification name of Microgrit company. Since then, Japanese semiconductor material giant FUJIMI has also produced a similar product, spec name PWA. Therefore,  alumina micropowder WCA and PWA are the same form of alumina powder.

White fused aluminum oxide sandblasting avoids rust spots

Ferro residue is a significant threat to the workpiece in the sandblasting process. Sandblasting is a surface treatment process that involves etching stainless steel and metal surfaces through high-speed abrasive spraying. Abrasives can damage the surface of stainless steel. If there are residues of ferro-containing components, it can cause iron residues to react with air and cause rust spots. White fused aluminum oxide is alumina with a purity of over 99.5%. And Fe2O3 content of less than 0.1%, and a magnetic content of less than 0.01%.

White fused alumina F240 for Polyurethane In-Mould-Coatings

White fused alumina F240 works in Polyurethane In-Mould-Coatings to improve the performance. Polyurethane in-mold- coatings are suitable for wear-resistant foam components such as automotive interior accessories, foam shoe sole materials, and the surface of polyurethane foam plastic products. Although the PU slurry is used in injection molds, it adheres to the surface of polyurethane products after injection molding. It plays a role in anti-slip, wear resistance, aging and yellowing prevention, and acid and alkali resistance. Thereby improving the service life of the product and increasing its aesthetic appeal.

White corundum price rises again

White corundum production is a highly energy-consuming and resource-consuming industry. In recent years, various white corundum manufacturers have been affected by low market demand in domestic and international markets. That results in consistently low operating rates. However, with the fluctuation of alumina prices, the price of white corundum rises accordingly.
