How is white aluminum oxide 1um ultrafine powder produced?
White aluminum oxide ultrafine powder is generally only white corundum powder with a D50 median particle size below 5um. Generally used for fine grinding and polishing. The white aluminum oxide 1um ultrafine powder (Equals to JIS 10000#) is the finest non-nano-scale aluminum oxide powder. The production process is very complicated.
The material of WFA ultrafine powder is fused aluminum oxide block. After milling in a ball milling machine, it gets white aluminum oxide powder with uneven particle size. The production process of white aluminum oxide micro powder is the process of selecting particles of different sizes in sections to obtain powders with different particle size ranges.
In the first step, before the sorting section, the white aluminum oxide needs to be chemically treated, usually treated with strong acid. That can remove impurities in the product during the crushing and ball milling process.
In the second step, the acid-washed white aluminum oxide is put into the water washing overflow equipment for overflow classification. By controlling the water flow speed and time, the white corundum powder of different grades is extracted into the corresponding type of sedimentation tank. During this process, the strong acid of the pickling process will be washed clean, so the obtained white corundum micro powder has a pH value close to neutral.
The third step is sedimentation in a sedimentation tank.
The fourth step is to put it into an industrial furnace for drying. After drying, sieve and loosen it to prevent the powder from agglomerating.
The fifth step is to carry out particle size detection with a laser particle size analyzer. Then warehouse will accept after meeting the particle size standard.
It will take about 50 days to get white aluminum oxide 10000 mesh ultrafine powder from the beginning of production. Our QC team will strictly monitor the particle size frequently. During the overflow process after sedimentation, and before storage. It ensures there are no large particles in the micro powder. Thus we can control the batch difference as small as possible to ensure the stability of product quality.
