Why White aluminum oxide F46 supply is tight
White aluminum oxide F46 grit is the main abrasive material for making resin bonded cutting discs. A single cutting disc factory always consumes hundreds of tons of abrasive grains. The supply of white corindon F46 is always tight.
However, in the production process of white aluminum oxide, the output of grits are less than the white fused alumina blocks. For example, 100 tons of white fused alumina blocks material will get 5-6 tons of F46 grit. Since the output of F46 Grade WFA is low and demand is high, the supply of that grade is not enough for cutting wheel factories. Beside, F46 is a commonly used grit for sandblasting and surface treatment. That makes the supply-demand even unbalanced.
As a result, many white corundum manufacturers quote a higher price for F46 white corindon than other grits.
