White fused alumina for firebricks
White fused alumina is a distinct refractory material for fire bricks, ladle lining, and castables. It features for its high hardness, high-temperature resistance, and high specific gravity.
The excellent thermal property is for the basic physical index of WFA refractory. The melting point of white fused alumina is 2250 centigrade. It can resistant to high temperatures up to 1850 centigrade. But the quality still varies between white fused alumina manufacturers. Generally, the WFA material with low Na2O and fully fused alumina.
The fusing process is the key step to getting high-quality white fused alumina. Firstly, it has to fuse for a long enough period about 30-32 hours. Secondly, it has to avoid AlF3 as an additive. Although it can save fusing time and save power costs, it will influence the melting point of white fused alumina. Thus, it affects the refractory performance.
The milling process is another importance for WFA production. Ferro impurities should be removed if with metal milling media.
White fused alumina is steady in high thermal circumstances. It is resistant to punches of smelting steel.
